Formby Cricket Club is delighted to officially announce the signing of highly-rated fast bowler James Dunn from Chorley C.C. for the upcoming 2026 season.
Dunn arrives at Cricket Path known primarily for his ability to generate a "good yard of pace," the right-arm quick also brings significant depth to the Formby lineup as a dangerous middle-to-lower order batsman.
James brings some elite level experiences to the squad, having come through the Lancashire age-group system and featured for the Lancashire 2nd XI on multiple occasions. His representative honors also include a call-up to the England U19 Lions, a milestone he describes as his best cricket moment to date.
First XI Captain, Ian Cockbain expressed his satisfaction in finally securing Dunn’s signature after a long-term pursuit.
“I’m pleased to have James join us. He nearly joined us halfway through last season, so he is a player I’ve had my eye on for a while," Cockbain remarked. "He has a good yard of pace and has been looking really good with both bat and ball during our winter net sessions. He is exactly the type of versatile talent we need to push for honors this year."
James is eager to test himself in the competitive environment of the Liverpool Competition.
"I’m pleased to have joined Formby," said James. "I have been told how good the standard is in the Comp and the excellent wickets as well. I can’t wait for the season to get here now."
All at Formby C.C. would like to extend a very warm welcome to James. We look forward to seeing him steaming in from the Cricket Path End this April.
