5. AGM Attendance

5.1 Both on the field, and off it, FCC has a lot to look back on over 2018 with pride; however, 2018 has provided us with a platform from which to gauge the good areas, and the areas for improvement, as we move all too quickly towards the 2019 season.

5.2 With the above point in mind, this year’s AGM will be a pivotal moment in deciding the direction and trajectory that FCC takes over at least the next 12 months; therefore, I cannot stress enough how important it is to achieve as high an attendance for the meeting as we can.

5.3 As can be seen in the posts that are detailed in para 2.3, a number already have nominations; however, we do have vacancies. If anyone feels that they could carry out any of the roles that are detailed, please let me know. I can assure you that your contribution would be most welcome.

5.5 Of equal importance is the Any Other Business item. The current Club Committee, as I am sure that their replacements will be if they are preferred, aim to ensure that the needs and wishes, as far as possible, of the entire cricket club are met and work diligently and conscientiously to deliver what is required. The Committee can only do this if they are made aware of issues that may be of concern or troubling members, or, alternatively, if there are opportunities or initiatives that are being missed then they need to be informed. If anyone has an issue that they would like to be discussed and considered, please do not hesitate to submit it to me and it will be included as a formal agenda item.

6. Conclusion

6.1 In its simplest terms, maximum attendance at this year’s AGM is required for the reasons that have been discussed. To assist us in achieving this goal, anyone who reads this is urged to pass the message to all of his / her cricket contacts, in whatever format that they use, so that we at least know that we have reached out to as many members as possible.

6.2 A final note, it goes without saying that not everyone can attend as we all lead busy lives and have prior commitments. Under these circumstance, could I ask that you just send your apologies to me as this does provide an important record.

Many Thanks

Jim Hathaway
